Sister Chris Treichel,
OSF…..On November
22, 2002, I accepted the appointment from Bishop Matthew Clark
to be the Pastoral Administrator of Sacred Heart Church in
Auburn and Saint Ann's Church in Owasco. For 25 years I have
enjoyed pastoral ministry….journeying with members of numerous
faith communities through the everyday happenings in their
lives. It's truly an honor for me to be of service to the people
of this community. You can count on me to be there for you.
Please don't hesitate to call upon me. I am a Franciscan Sister
of Allegany and have served the Lord for 42 years.

Deacon
Nick Valvo....I was ordained a Deacon in 2000 and have
worked as a Pastoral Associate at Sacred Heart since September
2003. My ministry encompasses: communion calls to the homebound
and hospitalized; a core member of Auburn's RCIA process; staff
liaison to Social Ministry Committee; preparation of families
for Baptism; Deacon at liturgical celebrations;
preaching regularly; facilitating the Book Club
discussion group and a Men's Spirituality group. I feel blessed
to be here at Sacred Heart and Saint Ann's Parish working with a dedicated staff
and being of service to this Community.

Jan Borromei....I have the privilege of
serving the communities of Sacred Heart, St. Ann’s, and St.
Mary’s as Director of Faith Formation. My days are extremely
busy planning the Summer Program, the Summer Extension Program
(Family, Faith & Food), the Family Faith Program, Sacramental
Preparation for Confirmation, Reconciliation and First
Eucharist, Service Projects, Adult Education, Children’s Liturgy
of the Word, and fun activities such as games for parish
gatherings
and Breakfast with Santa. To give you a little information
about myself, I am a widow with two adult sons, Sean and
Anthony (AJ), who both live in Rochester. I also have a
very spoiled Lhasa Apso named Toby, who makes sure I walk at
least a mile a day. I graduated from St. Bernard’s School of
Theology and Ministry in May 2005 with a Master's Degree in
Pastoral Studies. I am the Director of Birthright for Auburn
and I am also a Spiritual Director. In my spare time, I love to
walk, read, and cook.

Anna Comitz…. I have been the
Youth Minister for Sacred Heart and Saint Ann Churches since
July 2002. As of July 2005, I joined Saint Mary’s as
their Youth Minister. It will be a collaborative effort. My
ministry is to all the teens in these three parishes. This
includes a Jr. High and Sr. High group that gathers weekly,
engages in social events, service projects, retreats, Diocesan
and National Conventions. My three goals for the Youth are: To
empower the youth to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our
world today; to draw the youth to responsible participation in
the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community; and
to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young
youth. A little personal information about me: I am currently
working on my Youth Ministry Certification through St. Bernard’s
School of Theology and Ministry. I am the proud mother of two
daughters, Erica and Meghan. I am blessed to be the one
ministering to the youth of Sacred Heart, St. Ann, and St.
Mary Churches.

Anne Adessa…..Music is my
life, my love, my passion! I started as a volunteer musician
here and now am the Liturgical Music Director for both Sacred
Heart and Saint Ann’s. It’s a thrill for me to coordinate the
musical gifts of the people in the parish. God has surely
blessed our churches! I am currently taking courses at Saint
Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry to obtain diocesan
certification for my ministry in the Church.

Jackie Whatman….. What did we
ever do before computers….I spend most of my day keeping
records, preparing mailings, typing the weekly bulletin,
answering phones (when I don't have the help of volunteers) and all the odd jobs that need to be done. I have been the secretary for the parish and
the Religious Education Department since September 2001. No two days are ever the
same! My husband Fred and I moved here in 2000 from
Endicott. We have 2 sons, a daughter-in-law, grand daughter and
a lab.

Joan Beck....I was raised in E. Syracuse, the
eldest of six children and graduated from Le Moyne College with
a BBA degree in accounting. My husband Bill and I have a son
and two grand daughters in Georgia and a daughter in Colorado.
We owned and worked in our own business for many years in
Groton. In December 2003 we relocated in Auburn. I began as bookkeeper at
Sacred Heart and Saint Ann's in late February 2004. I continue
to enjoy the challenges and various responsibilities of the
position and the daily financial record keeping for the two
churches, as well as working with the parishioners and other
staff members.

Father Mike Brown…Along with
being the Sacramental Minister for both Sacred Heart and Saint
Ann’s, I am also the chaplain at the Auburn Prison. I got involved
with prison ministry while working in the Mount Morris area. My
ministry there in part included chaplaincy at Livingston and
Groveland Correctional Facilities. I have been ordained for 18
years and have enjoyed ministry in our Diocese at Elmira, Sacred
Heart Cathedral, Corning, Mount Morris and here in Auburn. I
also have a brother who is a priest of the diocese, Father Tim
Brown who is at St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua.

Father Felicjan Siertowicz….In
November, 1999, I came to the United States from Poland. My
hometown is Koniuszowa, a town near Krakow where Pope John Paul
II was from. In the Diocese of Rochester, I have been stationed
@ Assumption (Fairport), Good Shepherd Community (Aurora), and
Saint Michael’s (Lyons). Presently, I am the Chaplain for Mercy
Health and Rehabilitation Center, Butler and Cayuga Correctional
Facilities. For the past 5 years, I have been one of the
Sacramental Ministers for Sacred Heart and Saint Ann’s. April
2006, Bishop Clark accepted me as a priest of the Diocese. I have
enjoyed my ministry here and getting to know so many people in

Mike Vasco…..I
am retired from the
Fire Department after 26 years of service to the city. Now I focus
all my attention here at Sacred Heart and Saint Ann’s. I have been
maintaining all the facilities for the past 17 years. I look forward to
the summer months to work our side and to ride the mower to cut
the grass. Mickey at Disney

Shannon Lester…..I followed in my
grandmother’s footsteps as housekeeper @ Sacred Heart. I work hard to
keep all the facilities clean and ready for all the activities both @
Sacred Heart and Saint Ann’s. I have been here 12 years. In my leisure
time, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my children and family. I have two children Dale and Carissa. |
